Welcome to Kacheri Diaries

RCB won. But at what cost?

What was meant to be a happy day turned into a nightmare. A rally was organised to celebrate RCB’s win. Police had clearly denied permission. But still, the rally happened.

Crowds swelled. There was chaos. And then… a stampede. People died.

Why was this allowed? Who took the decision to go ahead despite police saying no?

Was celebrating more important than people’s safety?

We’re not here to blame blindly — but someone must be held accountable.

If the police said no, why wasn’t the rally stopped?

If the RCB management pushed for it, do they not owe answers to the families who lost loved ones?

The law does talk about responsibility:

If someone ignores police orders, that’s punishable.

If someone’s actions cause death through negligence, they can be jailed.

But will these laws ever apply to powerful people? Or only to the common man?

RCB’s win should have been a day of joy. Instead, some families are now mourning. All because people chose pride over permission, and fame over safety.

Let’s not forget those lives. Let’s ask the real questions. Not just for justice — but to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
